2 in custody after shooting at 7-Eleven in Pembroke Pines

Two suspects were after a shooting Monday at a 7-Eleven in Pembroke Pines.

Police said the victim, a juvenile black male, was walking home from school when he was spotted by the suspects, both black men, near the store at 10108 SW 13th St.

The victim spotted the men and attempted to take a different route but one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and fired at the boy, police said.

While the victim was able to flee the area without being struck, he saw the suspects a short time later and called police. The suspects then went into the 7-Eleven but were arrested by police.

Police reported Monday afternoon that they believed a third suspect may have been inside the convenience store but did a search and found no one inside.

A large police presence was gathered outside the store, but was cleared around 6:45 p.m.

Anyone with any information on the shooting is asked to contact the Pembroke Pines Police Department at 954-431-2200.
