Breeze Fusion Walk/Run benefits NCVO and high school programme

George Town, Cayman Islands.

The 7th annual Breeze Fusion Two-mile Walk/Run took place on Saturday, 2 November with almost 130 supporting the event, which was organised by Breeze FM and Phoenix Athletic Club.

A fundraiser for community outreach, the NCVO and Clifton Hunter High School’s “Adopt-a-Child Programme” were this year’s beneficiaries. Each received a donation of $1,000.00

The race, conducted over a new route, produced winners in several categories from ages 12 and under, to 60 and over, along with pram pushers and dog walkers. The overall male and female run winners were Dominic Corbin and Tiffany Cole with times of 10:27 and 12:54 respectively. The winner for the walk category for men was Deputy Governor Franz Manderson Sr., who was also patron of the race. Ashanti Minott placed first among the women.

This year’s corporate sponsors included LIME, Maedac and Wata, Monster Nutrition, Cayman National Bank, Roma United Sports Club and Advantage Copy and Print. In addition, over 10 retail partners joined the initiative and provided gifts for the random door prize draw. All participants received a goodie bag and a participation medal.

Organisers say this was the best year by far as it did not rain and the cool breeze was a welcoming change for all participants
