James Seth Thompson has been appointed to the newly created role of head of diverse markets strategy at Bernstein Private Wealth Management, a division of Alliance Bernstein. His responsibilities will entail ensuring that Bernstein’s multicultural clients, which includes business owners, not-for-profits and institutions, have access to the company’s investment planning and research.
“AB is deeply committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce,” said Janessa Cox, Head of Diversity and Inclusion at AB. “We’re excited to have James in the firm’s first-ever, client-focused role that supports our D&I values and believe it will allow him to positively impact our culture, both internally and with our clients.”
Thompson’s tenure with AB includes positions in the global insurance division leading program execution, marketing strategy and business development; and also in the company’s North America institutional and insurance services divisions.
To further AB’s initiative to become a firm that is inclusive of diversity, Thompson has launched partnerships with HBCUs and other academic institutions as well as external organizations focused on diversity and inclusion.
