Shoppers in the Mandeville Market had to run for cover Monday afternoon after three men entered a section and began firing shots.
During the shooting, Howard Brown, a vendor of Grey Ground and Old England addresses was killed.
According to police reports, approximately 3:50 p.m, Brown was in the market when the men entered firing shots, hitting him several times.
Two of the three gunmen who reportedly attempted to escape were accosted by the police and are now in custody.
The momentum of the Christmas Eve sales broke as sections of the market were cordoned.
