‘OINTB,’ ‘EMPIRE’ Up for Critics’ Choice Awards

Nominations for the fifth annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards were announced Wednesday, and newcomers Orange is the New Black, How To Get Away With Murder, black-ish and EMPIRE are up for awards.

EMPIRE is up for awards in the categories of “Best Drama Series” and “Best Actress” thanks to Taraji P. Henson’s performance in the series.

Viola Davis is also up for the “Best Actress” award for her role as Annalise Keating, the cutthroat yet protective lawyer on Shonda Rhimes’ hit new drama. Orange is the New Black’s Lorraine Toussaint is up for the “Best Supporting Actress” award and Anthony Anderson for ABC’s black-ish has a good chance of snagging the “Best Actor in a Comedy Series” nod.

The winners will be announced on May 31 on A&E (8/7c).
