Sally Yates celebrated Veterans Day this year by slamming the “shamelessly unpatriotic” president of the United States for his “embrace” of Vlaidmir Putin.
The former deputy attorney general took aim at President Donald Trump via Twitter, stating, “POTUS embraces Putin yet again telling world he believes former KGB agent’s denial of attack on our election over our own Intel public servants, calling them ‘political hacks.’ Disturbing and shamelessly unpatriotic, on Veterans Day no less.”

Yates tweeted this in response to Trump stating he believes Putin when the Russian president claims he did not meddle in the 2016 presidential election.
“He said he didn’t meddle, he said he didn’t meddle. I asked him again. You can only ask so many times. Every time he sees me he says, ‘I didn’t do that,’ and I really believe that when he tells me that, he means it,” he continued. “I can’t stand there and argue with him, I would rather have him get out of Syria, I would rather get to work with him on the Ukraine,” said Trump today after the two leaders discussed the issue during a recent economic summit in Vietnam.
Yates lost her position as attorney general at the beginning of this year after she was released by Trump for not enacting an executive order that would ban all travel from several Muslim majority countries.[featured image via screengrab]
