Stock Island woman stabs mother

A Stock Island woman is facing charges after stabbing her mother at an apartment complex Friday morning, deputies said.

According to deputies, Tabatha Young, 34, stabbed her mother, Aurora Hernandez, 43, in the chest shortly before 1 a.m.

Deputies said Hernandez's 10-year-old grandson witnessed the stabbing at the Banyan Grove apartments.

Hernandez was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Her condition has not been released.

Young was arrested and charged with aggravated battery.
