Weekend Escape: Discovering Jamaica’s ‘hidden gems’ | News

It has been almost two months since the launch of Weekend Escape where our team set out to unearth and highlight some hidden and unconventional attractions across Jamaica.

Our journey has taken us to remote spots like Falling Edge Waterfalls in St Andrew where we hiked into the steep lonely hills to get to the intimate, heavenly falls. We faced a similar trod to Reggae Falls in St Thomas, and checked out the newly renovated Lyssons Beach to give you different options for your weekend travels.

We upped the ante by visiting the Printed Circuit Cave in Trelawny, for our more adventurous readers who want a more “hands on” experience. For our more daring readers, we took the leap of faith on a slew of heart-clutching ziplines at H’Evans Scent in St Ann.

We also made a trek to Portland for a cultural trip to the Charles Town Maroon Museum and basked in the wonders of the Blue Mountains when we hiked to the Wilderness Retreat. The series for 2018 culminated with much thrill, panic and fun trying to get out of one of three escape rooms at Puzzle IT in Kingston.

We look forward to a more exciting journey in 2019, but, in the meantime, here are some highlights in case you missed any!
