The Maroon Tigers improve to 10-1, 3-1 SIAC on the year while the Badgers fall to 5-8, 1-3 SIAC.
After falling 3-0 to start the game, MHC never looked back in the first half as they went into the locker rooms with a 34-19 lead. The second half saw much of the same as Morehouse took their biggest lead of the game at 21 with 8:26 remaining in the ball game. The Maroon Tigers would hold on for the 12 point victory.
Alston (Waldorf, MD) finished with 14 points and 12 boards while Chibueze Ebinum (Lanham, MD) chipped in with 14 points and three rebounds. Junior point guard Michael Olmert (Atlanta, GA) had another solid night facilitating the offense as he finished with a season-high 14 assist, six points and five rebounds. Junior forward Keith Heard (Atlanta, GA) provided a spark off the bench as he finished with a season-high eight rebounds and four points.
SHC was led by Brandon Fischer who finished with a game-high 17 points and six rebounds while Justin Allison ended the night with a double-double as he had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Maroon Tigers shot 45% from the field while holding the Badgers to 35% including a stingy 25% shooting in the first half. MHC controlled the boards 47-39 while also forcing 15 Spring Hill turnovers.
Morehouse returns to action this Saturday as they travel to Memphis, Tenn. to take on the Magicians of LeMoyne-Owen College at 4 p.m. ET
